View options
Everything inside the View popover, explained. Open it from the top bar to change how your pattern is rendered. Settings only affect how things look — they never change the tiles you've placed.
Show
Choose what layers appear on the canvas.
Show only the five Girih tile shapes filled with color. Best when you want to study the underlying tiling itself.
Show the tiles and the strapwork (the interlocking lines) together. The default — useful while building.
Hide the tiles and show only the strapwork. This is the classical Girih pattern as you'd see it carved on a wall, without any of the construction scaffolding.
Line style
How the strapwork lines are drawn.
Simple single-stroke lines. Cleanest, most diagrammatic look.
Each strap is drawn as a two-tone ribbon — a filled band with a thin outline. Adds depth without implying any weaving.
Straps cross over and under each other in a regular pattern, like interlocking ribbon. This is how Girih patterns are traditionally rendered.
Line width
A slider from 0.5 to 8.
Controls how thick the strapwork lines are. Thinner widths read as delicate line drawings; thicker widths emphasise the ribbon and weave styles. Has no effect when Show is set to Tiles only.
Grid
The guide grid behind the canvas.
A standard orthogonal grid. Helps you align tiles to horizontal and vertical axes.
An isometric grid tilted to match the fivefold symmetry of Girih tiles. Useful when extending a motif along its natural axes.
Hide the grid entirely for a clean preview or export.
Snap hints
A toggle at the bottom of the View panel.
When ON, the canvas shows small markers as you drag a tile — the edges and vertices it can snap to on nearby tiles. Turn OFF for a distraction-free view when you're just arranging pieces.
